Dr. Roshan Colah
Assistant Director
Institute of Immunohaematology, (ICMR)
KEM Hospital, Mumbai.

We, at the In Institute of Immunohaematology have been collaborating with the "We Care Trust" on the screening and prevention of Thalassaemia over the last few years and have found her group to be very dynamic and working with dedication under her leadership. Her new venture on a mobile audio-visual campaign should go a long way in educating the masses about this genetic disorder which could easily be prevented by identification of couples at risk, genetic counselling and prenatal diagnosis. I wish her all the best in her endeavour.

Hope, "care till the Cure"

I wish to congratulate We Care Trust for its archievements. I have had the opportunity of working closely with this Trust since its inception. It is rare to find dedication as seen in this Trust.

Thalassaemia Major child requires regular and life long blood-transfusion for the survival, coupled with continuous removal(chelation) of ferritin/iron du to the multiple blood transfusions.

Blood transfusion service is a vital part of the treatment programme, and availability of quality bloodis the need of the hour. The timely availability of safe and healthy blood for transfusion is the requirement.

It is my earnest request to blood donors to adopt a child of Thalassaemia for transfusion, so that tested and retested safe blood is available.
